Why are you doing this?
We feel a strong calling to this city and a strong connection to the vision, mission, and values of Hopesprings Community of Faith. We see a great need in Sioux City for the kind of community of church we aspire to be, and the things we dream about doing.
Who is leading?
Michael Amman is the Lead Pastor for Hopesprings in Sioux City. We are a church plant of Hopesprings. Michael is on the Hopesprings board and reports to that board. We are looking for and growing leaders in Sioux City to partner with us in cultivating the community of faith we are working to see a reality. We are a team faithful to our vision and passionate about helping people connect with God and others. We see Jesus as the One in charge, with all of us using our gifts, abilities, personalities, and talents to see the Kingdom of God take its next step in Sioux City.
Does Sioux City really need another church?
No. Well yes. Well, it isn't that simple. The church spread across time, eternity, and Sioux City as well. The church is the body of Christ…anyone captivated by the gospel, trusting Jesus as their hope for life and health and peace in a world, is part of it. There are dozens and dozens of churches in Sioux City (over 80 by our count) but there are TENS OF THOUSANDS of people who are not connected with any of those unique expressions of community. We respect all of those communities of faith and pray they reach as many people as possible in the city, while realizing what we will be doing is different and that the city and its people need the community we are looking to help create. We are a part of the larger body of Christ in Sioux City, but feel a strong calling to do a new thing in the city. We believe Hopesprings in Sioux City will be great for this community and its people.
What is the relationship between Hopesprings Bangor and Hopesprings in Sioux City?
Hopesprings Corporation is a nonprofit organization (501c3) and both churches are under the umbrella of Hopesprings. We will work towards developing our own leadership in Sioux City, and both churches will function independently while still being united in their vision for their respective communities and under the leadership of the Hopesprings board.
When/where do you meet?
We meet on the 5th Floor of 520 Nebraska St Sundays at 10:30 and in community group during the week. There is free parking in the back. We'd love to meet you there.
